Mechanical Engineer
Job description
An engineering technician inspects and installs and tests equipment, analyzes plans for construction and design, writes up the changes they feel need to be made to any part, and carries out any other necessary tasks delegated by the supervising engineer. An engineering technician provides support to an engineer and will work in the field of mechanical/ design engineering. The job of an engineering technician involves a background in field experience with installations, the ability to work well on a team, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills alone with the drive to make a part better than the original.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Engineering Technician
Assists in drawing up blueprints and plans for products and equipment.
Designs and builds prototypes of planned products or equipment.
Assists in the construction of said products and equipment.
Maintains records and files of all completed engineering work.
Inspects product design for problems or errors.
Runs tests on products and equipment to ensure they function properly.
Analyzes system or product performance.
Provides suggestions for ways to improve products and equipment.
Assists in the presentation of completed products and projects at exhibitions or board meetings.
Keeps apprised of the latest developments and innovations in the industry.
Addresses and resolves glitches and problems with products.
Conducts regular maintenance on products and equipment.
Orders and replaces equipment parts.
Answers employee or customer questions about the function and maintenance of products.
Provides technical support to customers and employees.
Ensures that all safety procedures are observed during laboratory work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Possesses background knowledge in engineering or computer science.
Is capable of conducting independent research.

Knowledge of Solidworks design program
Education and Experience
Associate’s Degree/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology preferred and 3 years of experience.

Mechanical Engineer Intern (2 Positions Available)
Summary: Assist in the development and implementation of clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for engineering or manufacturing purposes, according to specified dimensions using computer and specially designed software.
Primary responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Perform basic product design modifications.
Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment.
Perform engineering change processes as necessary to support existing products.
Create 3-D models from 2-D drawings.
Generate and scan prints.
Ability to perform mechanical design calculations.
Test prototypes and standard products and write reports to document the results.
Categorize a wide arrangement of existing parts.
Performs other duties as assigned All Employees

Pursuing a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with a minimum of sophomore status
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Familiarity of 3D modeling software
Ability to conduct and document testing.
Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in a team environment.
Completed coursework in mechanics of materials.
General knowledge of common tools and their purpose.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Preferred qualifications:
Agricultural experience
Completion of design of machinery
Solidworks experience
Prior experience with 3D printing
